Giving useful equipment a second life

I run 1337 Systems as a community-focused support project alongside my infrastructure work. I diagnose faults, replace approved components, rebuild operating systems and help people understand their equipment. The aim is to reduce waste, extend the life of usable hardware and make technical help easier to access.

Support is available for personal devices, family equipment and small-business systems where the owner has authorised the work. An honest review is appreciated after a successful repair, but it is never a condition of receiving help.

HOW IT WORKS

Clear boundaries and no surprise costs

1. Describe the problem

Send the device type, symptoms and any important data or deadlines.

2. Diagnose first

I reproduce the fault, test likely causes and explain what I find before changing parts.

3. Approve parts

You only pay for replacement parts or materials that you have agreed to purchase.

4. Repair and verify

I fit, configure and test the system, then explain what was changed and what to monitor.

Authorised devices only.

I only work on equipment owned by the requester or where clear permission has been provided. Account access, password recovery and data recovery are best-effort services and cannot be guaranteed. Backups are always recommended before reinstalling or replacing storage.
