Crafty Controller is a web-based Minecraft server management tool that lets you create, configure and manage multiple Minecraft servers (both Java and Bedrock editions) from a single interface. It provides server creation, start/stop controls, player management, backup scheduling, console access and resource monitoring.
Why I run it
I run Crafty to host Minecraft servers for family and friends. Rather than paying for a hosted server or relying on a third-party service, I run game servers on my own infrastructure where I control the configuration, the world backups, the player whitelist and the network access. The servers are accessible through Tailscale for private access — no port forwarding, no exposure to the public internet.
It is also a practical example of running a service that other people depend on: if the Minecraft server goes down at 8pm on a Saturday, I hear about it. That kind of accountability — keeping a service reliable for real users, even if those users are family — is the same discipline that applies to any infrastructure role.
What this gives you
Private, self-hosted game servers with a management interface, accessible only through Tailscale — no public exposure, no monthly hosting fees, and full control over configuration, backups and access.
